Welcome to the Michif Language Revitalization Project. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website and the purchase and use of our Michif Flashcard products. By accessing this site or purchasing a product, you agree to be bound by the terms below.
1. About Us
The Michif Flashcard Project is a community-led initiative committed to supporting the revitalization of the Michif language. We offer digital and physical flashcard products designed for educators, caregivers, and families to help teach the Michif language to young learners.
Our contributors include respected Métis elders, educators, artists, publishers, and community organizations. Proceeds from product sales support further language revitalization efforts, including donations to the Turtle Mountain Métis Local.
2. Product Access and Usage
2.1 Digital Products
Upon purchase, customers will receive access to our digital flashcard portal. This includes:
- Online access to 80+ flashcards
- Video pronunciations recorded by a respected Métis elder
Access is granted via a unique access code or user account and is intended for personal or institutional use as described at the point of purchase.
Digital access is non-transferable and limited to the purchaser or authorized educator.
2.2 Physical Products
Physical flashcards are shipped within Canada and may take up to 12 weeks to arrive due to print-on-demand production cycles and community-based fulfillment processes. You will be notified via email once your order has been shipped.
3. Acceptable Use
Our educational materials are provided for the purpose of language learning and cultural education. By using this site and its materials, you agree to:
- Not redistribute or resell the content without written permission
- Not modify or adapt the materials for commercial purposes
- Respect the cultural significance of the Michif language and content
The audio recordings, flashcards, and illustrations are protected by intellectual property laws and are provided under a limited-use license for educational and personal use.
4. Returns and Refunds
Due to the digital nature of our flashcards and the custom production of physical sets, all sales are final. However, if you experience a technical issue or do not receive access after your purchase, please contact us at info@michif.io and we will assist you promptly.
5. Privacy and Data
We collect limited personal information (such as your name, email address, and order details) to fulfill your purchase and provide access to digital content. All data is handled in accordance with our [Privacy Policy] and is never shared or sold.
6. Limitation of Liability
